Reflections and Fueling the Future

Dear PEPS Community,

As we step into a new year, I’ve been reflecting on the extraordinary progress we made together in 2025.

Highlights of 2025 include:

  • Connecting and supporting nearly 6000 parents through our programs and partnerships
  • Collaborating with Seattle Public Schools to offer a variety of workshops for parents of adolescents and teens
  • Launching PEPS in Tacoma and piloting PEPS Groups for military and international families
  • Strengthening our parent support by integrating more mindfulness and well-being practices

And throughout the year, even as we reached more families, we were also looking ahead, listening closely to parents, partners, and leaders as we shaped the future of PEPS.

What we heard in those conversations echoes what we have seen across the past five years. Parents are carrying more stress and experiencing more isolation, even as the world has reopened. The pressures of technology, social media, rising costs, and a fractured political climate have all made it harder for families to build the strong, local networks that sustain them. And we know from both research and four decades of experience that when parents lack support, stress levels rise, mental health declines, and children feel the impact.

Our new Strategic Direction grows directly from this learning. It was shaped first and foremost by our staff, who led the work from the beginning, and strengthened by insight from our group leaders, community partners, board, advisors, ambassadors, and supporters. Together, we asked big questions, held a wide range of perspectives, and charted a path grounded in clarity, community wisdom, and deep care for the families we serve.

Here is where we are going next: by 2033, our 50th birthday, we aim to reach 150,000 more parents and children.

We envision a future where connection shows up in the everyday places families already go. This includes PEPS Groups and parent connection gatherings offered directly by PEPS, as well as programs delivered through trusted partners, schools, workplaces, and organizations across the region and beyond.

Our vision is simple: one day, no parent will be alone.

Families thrive when parents are connected, and parents need that connection in every season of raising a child.

Over the next three years, we will focus on four key priorities that move us toward this future.

  1. Make community possible for more parents

It highlights programming expansion to serve families locally and nationally with key focus areas: Pierce County, Affiliate Network, and Flexible Formats, accompanied by images of diverse parents with children.

2. Support the people who power connection

3. Build a movement for supported, connected parents

4. Grow intentionally, sustainably, and in community

Thank you for being part of this work.

Your support makes everything possible. It strengthens the circle of care around parents at a time when they need it most. It fuels the programs, partnerships, and people who work together to support parents every step of the way. And it reminds families they do not have to walk this journey alone.

With gratitude,

Dana Guy
